Day 16: Male bonding as the gateway to integrated masculinity by Buster Rådvik

“If I let myself feel love for a man, does that mean I’m gay? ”Male bonding as the gateway to integrated masculinity.

This workshop will invite you to:
– Acknowledge and bring awareness to what keeps us apart as men. – Revisit your history with important male figures in your life, and explore how these relationships still influence how you connect with other men today.– Explore the discomfort that arises during physical and emotional closeness with another man – and learn how to turn that homophobia into honest connection.Coming home to who I am as a whole person requires me to explore my social and relational fears and phobias. Unexamined, they remain unconscious and keep me in chronic states of vigilance, avoidance, isolation, judgement and shame.
In order to fully love myself as a man, I have to confront my own homophobia, the fear that truly loving the masculine will mean that I’m gay.
It’s time to learn, practice and integrate new ways of being yourself that can help you transform what prevents you from fully loving another man, ultimately, most importantly, yourself.
Walk away knowing that your relationship to the discomfort of homophobia is the key to deeper connections with other men, and more honest connections with other men are the key to developing and integrating your own inner masculine.
Women birth boys. Only men can birth men.

Let’s break through these unconscious fears, and birth ourselves, together, as integrated men.
